Office and Accounts Manuals – The Detail
The Strategic Partner works with firms to create and maintain their office manuals, including firms with or without Lexcel and other quality kitemarks such as CQS, WIQS and SQM.
Whilst firms with Lexcel or SQM will have developed a manual, and other firms may also already have a manual, the issue is often keeping it up to date. In the ever-changing regulatory landscape, manuals can quickly become out of date.
In addition to helping a firm draft bespoke office and/or accounts manuals for the first time, we will also work with firms to update any existing manual, providing appropriate guidance on best practice as necessary.
The Strategic Partner can also help prepare firms for their annual assessments by Lexcel, WIQS, or CQS, or 3-yearly SQM audit.
We work with you to ensure that the bespoke office and/or accounts manuals are a true representation of the processes adopted by the firm and that it is understood by staff and kept up to date.
Our Service Includes:
- Developing either or both an office manual/accounts manual, setting out the way in which the firm operates. This will include financial and operational processes.
- A risk and compliance manual, setting out how the firm manages risk and compliance with regulations.
- An employee handbook, setting out how the firm manages the staff.
The development of these three core manuals will provide firms with a clear statement of how the firm is run and managed and will also form the cornerstone of a firm’s approach to risk and compliance.
Every firm is different and whilst there may be a commonality of tasks and activity, the documents generated must be bespoke and 100% relevant to the firm itself.
At The Strategic Partner, we will work with firms to create, manage, and maintain their policies and procedures. Whilst there may be some initial work required from you to help us to generate the required documents, once achieved the maintenance is an annual process that is cost-effective, whilst ensuring that the task is completed and the documents remain current.
